Once again, the skies threatened, but the weather couldn’t dampen the spirit of the Huntsman World Senior Games athletes. Most sports were able to play through today’ schedule.
The Opening Ceremonies took place in the Dixie State College Hansen Stadium and featured a high-energy classic rock theme with big hits from the seventies and eighties. Diamond Talent again produced the show which featured local talent along with several guest performers from outside the area. Olympic Medalist, Shannon Miller also delivered a very inspiring address encouraging the Games’ athletes to strive for their very best in all the do.

In addition to the sporting events, tomorrow marks the first day of Health Screenings in the Dixie Center. The screenings will run from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and are free to all registered athletes and guests.
