The spirit of the Winter Olympics will live on with competition for senior winter sports enthusiasts during the California Senior Winter Games, March 11 to 14, 2010.

The event, to be held at Dodge Ridge Winter Sports Area, Pincecrest, California, is open to women and men—50 years and older (competing in five-year age groups). The four-day competition will feature downhill skiing, Nordic downhill, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and demonstrations.

“We are pleased to host the California Senior Winter Games at Dodge Ridge and we’re fully set up with our recent $6 million base area expansion, great terrain, and experienced staff,” said Sally Helm, Dodge Ridge President and CEO.

The event has been brought to Dodge Ridge, through a partnership with the California Senior Games Association, a statewide non-profit organization and member of the National Senior Games Association, dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles for seniors through education, fitness and sports.

Dodge Ridge is located 30 miles east of Sonora, California (Tuolumne County) near Pinecrest, just off of Highway 108.
