The Huntsman World Senior Games opened online registration March 1, 2010, three full months ahead of the traditional launch date of June 1.
“We know that people want to plan ahead for the events they will be attending,” said Kyle M Case, Games CEO. “So we’ve been working hard for the past several months to get things put in order so we could open registration early. I'm very proud of the extra efforts the staff put in to make this possible”
Due to a few last minute glitches, the system was opened late in the evening of March 1, at 9:32 pm. By 9:48 pm, Steve Salter of Davis, California, had signed up as a softball player for the 65+ division, officially becoming the first registered athlete of the 2010 Huntsman World Senior Games. Salter plays for the San Francisco Seals.
Athletes wishing to register are encouraged to do so by visiting the Registration page. Those who registered last year using the online system can use their same Username and Password. If they have forgotten last year’s log in information, it can be retrieved by clicking on the “Forgot Username and/or Password” link in the “Access My Account” box.
Registration will be open until September 1, 2010. Registering by August 1, 2010 saves athletes $20.
The Huntsman World Senior Games is the world’s largest annual multi-sport event for athletes 50 and over. The Games takes place each year in October in St. George, Utah and offers 27 sports to choose from including Archery, Badminton and Racewalking.
