REGISTRATION RULES
• Registered teams can be found by clicking here. Additional teams will be accepted as space allows.
• A minimum of 4 teams per division is required.
• Registration forms for individual team members that have attended the Games in 2007, 2008 or 2009 will be mailed directly to the individual team members on June 1.
• Individual team members must register by September 1.
• Team members will be required to enter their team number when registering.
• As players register they will be automatically added to the team roster.
• Teams with less than 10 players on their roster on September 1, may be cancelled and there will be no refund.
• After September 1, changes can be made to the team roster by calling the HWSG office and speaking directly to Diane (Sports Dept.). Changes or additions will not be permitted at the Manager's Meetings.
• Rule Books and schedules will be available by September 25.
• Players may play on multiple teams if they are registered for each team before the September 1st deadline. The teams must be in different age divisions. A player may play in a younger age division, but not older. If the playing times of the two teams conflict, the player will have to choose which team he will play for. Players that register for multiple softball teams must pay the sport fees for each team.
• 50+, 55+ & 60+ teams may have up to 10 defensive players.
• 65+, 70+, 74+ & 79+ teams may have up to 11 defensive players.
MANDATORY MANAGERS MEETINGS
60+, 65+ - Sunday, Oct. 3 – 7:00 pm – Dixie Center
50+, 55+, 70+ - Sunday, Oct. 10 – 7:00 pm – Dixie Center
74+, 79+ - Tuesday, Oct. 12 – ½ hour before the first game
FORMAT / RULES
• Tournament is sanctioned by the American Fastpitch Association - Slowpitch. AFA-Slowpitch rules will govern play.
• Each team is guaranteed 5 games, weather permitting.
• Ball will be .44 C.O.R. and .375 compression
• All bats meeting the 1.20bpf standard are approved.
• All players must have numbers (minimum 6" high) on the back of their jersey.
• Age divisions for teams will be determined by the age of the youngest team member.
• Monday and Tuesday will be round-robin play after which teams will be seeded into “Major”, “AAA”, “AA”, “A”, “B” or “C” divisions (depending on entries) for the double elimination championship tournament.
• At the discretion of the Tournament Committee, Gold Medal teams from the previous year’s Games may be moved up in divisions.
• All team members must check-in at the Dixie Center where they will be required to present a photo ID verifying their name and date of birth.
• If any team member is not registered and checked-in, the entire team will forfeit that game (unless prior arrangements were made with the HWSG office or a member of the tournament committee).
• HWSG ID Badges and picture ID must be in players’ possession during all games and will be randomly checked.
• No substitutions of players will be allowed at the Dixie Center check-in.
• A copy of the playoff bracketing will be available for pick-up by the Team Manager or his representative on Tuesday at the sport social venue (Worthen Park) between 5:30pm and 6:30 pm.
• NEW FOR 2010... At the beginning of the last inning, if the run differential is ten or more runs and both managers agree, we will implement the flip-flop rule.
• NEW FOR 2010... An illegal pitch will be signaled and verbally called at the point the pitch becomes illegal.
MEDALS
Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to each team member in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams of each division. Medals will be presented after each championship game.
